SHANTI D --------------------------------------

Shanti D started out as a MC in the mid 90s, singing for various sounds and bands
of the Parisian underground scene. Inspired by masters like Barrington Levy, Sugar
Minott, Junior Reid or Cornell Campbell Shanti took his style to a next level by
mixing in some flavours of Asian and Middle Eastern music picked up during his
travels around the globe.

After meeting Junior Cony in 1999 they released a 2x7" in 2002 followed by the LP
"At The Government Shop", which became an instant classic in France, influencing
and inspiring many other musicians. The Single "Originally" became a minor hit and
has been compiled three times. A second LP came out in 2008, the third chapter just
dropped this year. Heaps of other releases followed, for Mungo's Hifi, Riddim Tuffa,
Dub Invaders, Part2Style and many more.

Shanti D is probably best known for his epic, spaced out dynamite live sets with
OBF, performing everywhere where's a stack of bassbins and an ounce of herbs in
sight: at Garance, Outlook, Fusion, Rototom or Telerama Dub Festival, just to name
a few.
