the TV shooting for 'nano' (12.09.2006)
The great Wizards Of OS 4 event in Berlin triggered a surprising
wave of media
interest in the whole free music and netlabel movement. Since we played a minor
role
there
and Leipzig is not far from Berlin we were seemingly among the obvious people
to talk
to about the whole issue. So it happened that a TV team from the 'nano'
science
mag (one of the few good things in public German TV) showed up to meet
phlow-founder
mo. and disrupt in the Jahtari home base to shoot a part of a story on
the WOS4. mo.
talked about the netlabel scene and it's possible future in general and
about his
excellent
book "Websites fuer Musiker, DJs & Netlabels".
"Why are you giving your music away for FREE?" was one
of the most common questions.
"Well, we're making music anyway and since it doesn't
cost us a lot to produce and
distribute it via the net we are happy to share it with
anybody who likes it." was
our answer. More in that veine and a very relaxed shooting with a supernice team
followed, involving a lot of camera-friendly vinyl handling, talking with mo. in
front of the laptop and taking care of blown out fuses due to the fat lights.
