ALIEN TRACKERS

Alien Trackers is a live dub project by cosmic trumpet specialist Pablo Volt (STA) and Jahtari space ship mechanic disrupt, landing right in the sweet spot between soulful Black Ark-warmth, digital Firehouse dancehall hitters and Jahtarian Dub psychedelics.

Pablo Volt aka Pope (Mendoza, Argentina 1978). Musician and producer based in Barcelona since 2000. He uses dub and improvisation as the core elements of his work. A multi-instrumentalist, he has explored DIY at all levels: playing, recording, composing, improvising, mixing, and editing.

Pablo Volt focuses much of his work on an exploration of the possibilities of the trumpet as a means of expression and composition. He is closely linked to the contemporary improvisational music scene in Barcelona. As a trumpet player, he explores extended techniques that suggest a skillful weaving of imaginative sonic explorations with lyrical and cinematic textures, highlighting his unique, whispery voice. However, he also displays a powerful and full sound when playing melodies and notes in more conventional forms.

As a solo musician, he has released five albums. As a producer, his work with the dub group STA stands out, for whom he has mixed and produced six LPs released both in Spain and Europe. He also has a duo with J.G.G, another with Tomás Spicolli and a trio with Mark Cunningham among many other projects.
