Super cosmic gem of a Dub album by French bass & keys wizard Slim Levy – bass player during Lee Perry’s last tour – having fun with the vintage and retro sounds of his children’s synthesizers. 

 

“Snippet Sounds” was inspired in equal parts by Lee Perry’s radical mixing desk treatment on “Dub Revolution” – as well as the magic songwriting on “Pet Sounds” by the Beach Boys. This fireworks display of little Dub nuggets played on toy keyboards, psychedelic floor shakers and expertly written curveball riddims proves highly addictive.

 

Beautifully messy Dubs full of their own unique Mojo, mixed live on a Fostex four-track cassette recorder, in the vein of Sheriff Lindo, Tapes or Noda & Wolfers. Not to be missed!
