DISRUPT
“Berzerk Dub / Echobombing “
JTR7-03
release date: 11.01.2009
7″ vinyl, digital
Disrupt is back on the joysticks and having another go on the subbass highscore with these two fresh robo-skanking low-end belters.
Berzerk Dub on A is a raw Elektro-Dub-piece in the 80s spirit, driven by a simple drummachine beat, a straight, heavy bass and spooky Robot chatter. On the side, the tune not only pays tribute to the first arcade game that ever used speech-synthesis (“Berzerk“, 1980) but also to Jeff Dailey, the first person who died while playing a computer game (Berzerk) in 1981, due to a heart attack after reaching a new highscore…
The title of Echobombing on B is self-explaining. An ultra-heavy bass, that will bomb any floor, is riding a HipHop beatbox and some rough 8bit-skanks. Lots of surprising turns and twists in this one!
This 7″ is limited to 700 copies and comes with awesome sleeve artwork by Jimmy Cauty (LC).
Mastered by Dubplates & Mastering, Berlin.
