Jahpan vs. Jamaica

How a Japanese song from the 1950s turned into a ska classic -
and a Jahtari track! The ties from Japan to Jamaica are stronger
and the influence on Reggae (and anything after) bigger than
one would think. Get all the ranting [HERE].

UK Radio History: On The Wire

The UK has one of the nicest radio cultures on the globe. There is
(or was) John Peel. There's Mary Anne Hobbs. And there's "On The
Wire". Being one of the longest running and most groundbreaking
radio shows ever you can count on wicked weekly mixes ranging
from Reggae, Dub, Dubstep on to Techno, Dance music and Soul,
insightful reviews and funky presentation.

And then there are still tons of historic recordings around dating
back to 1984 - all for free download! [READ MORE].

The History Of Reggae Music

This topic in general is a very complex one but since we are a Reggae
label here and this is the definitive background of our work I thought
it possibly makes sense to write something about the musical and
historical aspect of the single transformation steps this music went
through. Many aspects of it influenced us enormously while many
others didn't so I tried to select the to us important ones out and
recount their (quite interesting) stories.

This section includes many pictures and sound examples and I hope
you find the one or other thing there you didn't know before and
otherwise have a good time while doing it! [MORE]
