Dubsworth is a multi-instrumentalist producer and composer based in the Los Angeles area. With a rich musical background performing in dozens of bands across genres—from jazz over rock to disco—his journey into electronic music began in the early Dubstep scene of 2007. There, he quickly gained recognition as one of the first ever artists to blend live instruments with Dubstep production.

Dubsworth’s genre-defying sound has earned him a broad range of releases and features, with tracks appearing on CSI: Miami and coverage in outlets like The Huffington Post. His musical collaborations span the globe, including current works with the rising UK-based disco house outfit Golden Gate, releases with Jahtari label head Disrupt, and a mind bending solo record exploring meditative, bass guitar-driven soundscapes.

Ever-evolving and boundary-pushing, Dubsworth continues to channel his sonic versatility into projects that defy categorization—spreading his musical chameleonism across the world.

Cosmic Threat are bass clarinet black belt Volker Hemken (from Gewandhausorchester Leipzig), Kiki Hitomi (WaqWaq Kingdom, King Midas) and disrupt, who met for the Two Play To Play project – a collaboration between electronic and classically trained musicians here in Leipzig. 

The goal was to develop tracks for an one hour piece, and then perform it live at the Gewandhaus concert hall. Improvising and jamming together over various sessions in an empty club due to lockdown, developing a collective feeling for moods and textures and growing song strucutures together turned out to be a spiritual journey.

The result is a one-of-a-kind Space Jazz Dub record, knitting those Cosmic Threads in real time…
