The tape heads of the Jahtari echo machines have been finetuned, the reverb modules are rewired, the bass implant is set to maximum blast and now the third episode of our ongoing series called “Jahtarian Dubbers” is ready to rock your walkman for a long time to come.

Mikey Murka went up to the dancehall again, John Frum is back with a hauntingly beautiful dub, Maffi team up with Ranking Levy from MyLord Sound while the Jahtari Riddim Force is on the loose, El Fata rinses Tapes‘ smashing “Gold Love Riddim”, disrupt dug out a forgotten treasure from the vault and Rootah runs his tube delays into the red zone.

Wearing the black belt for beatmaking and new in the Jahtari camp is Monkey Marc (who supplied a wicked instrumental to the last Roots Manuva album). Our favourite sound system champions Mungo’s Hifi are about to blow your speakers alongside veteran Jim Nastics, plus there’s a very special Rootah version of a Dub Syndicate / Adrian Sherwood classic – with Lee Perry (!) on the mic, lazergun in hand, straightjacket and all. So better pack enough supplies for an interstellar trip – this one might take a while.

After Afrikan Simba’s “Alternative Power” (from the “Jahtarian Dubbers Vol. 1” comp) has been in heavy circulation around the globe since long this deep 12″ is certainly one of the most awaited Jahtari releases ever.

Always floor faves during dances, Simba’s unique, powerful vibe and strong spiritual forcefield are pushing these epic tracks to the red area on the dubness scale while Rootah’s voltage-drenched production is exploring the remote corners of vast reverb landscapes and oversized scoobs alike. Better galvanize your turntables quickly, for this wax comes in extra-heavy!

“Elders EP”

Finnish sonic explorers The Clouds, whose timeless tracks like “Shallow” were roaming the Dubstep world in 2008, are delivering their heavy “Elders” cut with Jahtari. Based on a haunting, down-pitched vocal acapella of dancehall legend Cocoa-Tea this wicked riddim comes with a killah bassline that will be a challenge to every heavy duty sound system. Crazy sample action going down in the Ras Amerlock Dub version on A2.

The tune is getting a completely new drift on B1, when Jahtari roots master Rootah is heating up his analogue tubes to shoot the riddim into a new dimension. Finishing this wax is an ultra-kicking Dubstep refix by Wadadda (Police In Helicopter, MG77) which will easily blow off the roof of every dancefloor.

The first ever Jahtari-12″, “JAHTARIAN DUBBERS Vol. 1”. Three heavy tunes from our upcoming label compilation album plus an exclusive and new cut of Rootah’s “Holy Mount” appear here on this beautiful record. Every groove of it is filled to the max with deadly basslines, smashing delays and infinte deepness, just waiting to be discovered in full detail.

The opener “Roots Defender” by Blaze Dem will already smash any sound system with ease. With an ultra-deep bassline, a killer hook and crazy sampling madness in Swedish this tune is sure to shake any floor. Disrupt follows in his unmistakable style with “Kozure Okami” on A2, paying tribute to old 70s Samurai movies and Black Ark alike. From cutting-edge FX action, full force low-end niceness to a wicked synthie solo – all’s in there.

The B-side starts off with John Frum‘s echo monster “January Dub”. Soundscapes beyond words layered over these special drum and bass vibe that only our delay navigator is able to create are topped off with a big melody line that definitely will follow you in your dreams.

Rootah is finishing this heavy wax with his smaher “Holy Mount Part 2” which is nothing else but pure blizz, as you will see. Tube tape echo machines are being set on fire over this extremely hypnotic mutation of the Drum Song riddim. Watch your speakers. The original and pretty different version (Part 1) will appear on the full album compilation next.

“The mighty Disrupt camp return to wreak havoc on our subwoofers with a full-length selection of heavy dub, dancehall and dubstep variations straight from the depths of the echo chamber.

Disrupt himself looms large over proceedings with two heavyweight contributions – “Kozure Okami” and “Selassi I Continually version” – the former a skanking 8-bit dub blowout in finest, smoke-filled style, the latter employing a slowed down steppers vibe that reverberates and spins out in a plume of dub delay – its just mighty mighty stuff.

Type Record’s Julien Neto also makes a return to his “John Frum” moniker for two tracks of endlessly deep midnight dub – valve organs and shockingly weighty bass in tow. Ilyah & Candy offer another highlight – a squashed dub lullaby with sweetest female vox – one part King Tubby to one part Glass Candy, offering a good transition point and another unexpected move from this forever inventive camp.

With narcotic bassline killers from Blaze Dem, Rootah, Pete Murdertone and Blue Vitriol along the way – The Jahtari massive has established itself as a sturdy bass for a number of likeminded low-end operators, and this 10 track session is simply a must for all you Burial, Disrupt, Basic Replay and Lee Perry heads out there – and a bargain to boot. Killer wares all-round – ESSENTIAL PURCHASE!”
