Hard-hitting 7” floppy disk by West Coast beat maestro Mophono, mashing up two 8bit mini epics by disrupt and shooting them into outer space.

“Budokan Dub” is the instrumental cut of Roger Robinson’s “Bristol Crystal” from the Jahtarian Dubbers Vol. 6 compilation: a bass heavy mutation of Rob Hubbard’s 1989 fighting game soundtrack, re-worked by disrupt on a DIY commodore synth, with added extra rocket fuel by Mophono, cranking the psychedelics up to eleven.

Made with the same DIY synth, “Proper Tings version” on B is based on the original riddim track for Tikiman’s “Who Goes There”. Mophono now sent it through the cosmic slice machine, turning it into a deadly sound system rattler, designed to take the roof off at those very special moments.

Coming with the additional beat tool “Dub Form Creator” and a nice’n’gritty floppy disc sleeve this crucial little data package is not to be missed!

Volume Six in the ongoing saga of the Jahtarian Dub mothership, full of
8-bit explosives, cosmic curveballs and sound system heavy hitters.

Roger Robinson teams up with West Coast beat maestro Mophono (watch out for the limited 7” instrumental “Budokan Dub”!), Maffi and Tapes return with mutated killer riddims, Casio shaman Green Jesus is transmitting from the Polish woods, while The Other Others beam in alongside Daniel Monaco, followed by a special Dub cut from Elijah Minelli x Kiki Hitomi.

On the flip Bo Marley are back, with a track previously only released on tape, S.NOVA spreads her haunting vocals over an Alien Trackers depth charge and Slim Levy dubs the Beatles into outer space.

There is more Dub love coming from the newly born Snorks outfit, disrupt appears with a beautiful spaced out hiphop track and Barcelona Dub heroes STA finish the journey with a super hypnotizing brain melter that will see an extended 12” version soon.

Dub album full of sound system explosives by expert riddim tinkerer Prince Riser – hard rocking, spaced out Kawai synth digi bangers, hitting that sweet spot between analog and digital Reggae while drawing vibes from the legacy of Dread & Fred, Exterminator and Jammy.

Aside from the thunderous Dub epic “Through The Storm” Prince Riser’s debut LP is also featuring the killer vocal cuts “Poverty Ina Russia” by Sammy Gold – a super heavy depth charge of Sly & Robbie proportions – the soulful Wackie’s flavoured anthem “Keep On Trodding” by Madi Simmons (who sadly passed away in 2024) and the plonky digi stepper “Travelling Gal” by Prince Riser himself, each accompanied by a murderous Dub version.

With extra cosmic dust added by disrupt at the Jahtari home studio, “Through The Storm” is crucial gear for any sound system vinyl crate.

Super-cosmic Dub album by bass & keys wizard Slim Levy, full of song writing magic and it’s very own cassette tape mojo.

Fourteen beautifully messy dub tracks, psychedelic floor movers and short curveball riddims, inspired by Lee Perry’s radical mixing desk treatment on “Dub Revolution” but infused with the musicality of the “Pet Sounds” album by the Beach Boys.

Initially a professional bassist, Slim Levy fell in love with the golden age of Jamaican music of the 60s and 70s after a formative tour alongside the legendary Lee “Scratch” Perry.

In 2020 he launched his career as a producer. At his home studio in Strasbourg / France he is always on the search for sound artifacts and magic imperfections, shaping his distinct sound.

“Snippets Sounds” is coming with cover art by fineliner maestro David Farris.

Zeb & Scotty without a doubt belong to the unsung heroes of the Jamaican-Caledonian underground, running tings during sound system nights all over Scotland in the 2010s – most notoriously for Mungo’s Hifi in Glasgow and Big Toe’s Hifi in Edinburgh. Wherever a heavy bass could be heard through wet nights, you could be sure the duo was tearing the place down inside.

Always getting the vibes best on a small stage next to a blasting rig, their vinyl releases remained scarce however. Luckily one of their magic moments, “Bring Di Sensi” on a Jahtari 8bit chip hop jam, was captured on tape in 2008 at the Glasgow School of Art during a Mungo’s Hifi session.

Now pressed to fine 7″ wax with an all new Dub cut on B and alongside beloved oddball reggae outro “Roll That Shit“, this heavyweight delivery is scheduled to arrive at all sound systems shortly!

ALIEN TRACKERS






Alien Trackers is a live dub project by cosmic trumpet specialist Pablo Volt (STA) and Jahtari space ship mechanic disrupt, landing right in the sweet spot between soulful Black Ark-warmth, digital Firehouse dancehall hitters and Jahtarian Dub psychedelics.

Multi-instrumentalist and producer Pablo Volt is closely linked to the contemporary improvisational music scene in Barcelona and has explored DIY production at all levels. As a dub and jazz trumpet expert he relased a string of LPs, incl. classic albums with local Dub legends STA. He also has a duo with J.G.G, another with Tomás Spicolli and a trio with Mark Cunningham, among many other projects.

Together with Jahtari Gameboy Dub specialist disrupt (and a Jah Shaka space drum) the Alien Trackers duo is turning up the dancehall live dub energy rays to MAX level with their intergalactic album “Dubs from Vortex Beach“!
