Experimental Deephouse Afro-futurism album by Dub poetry free spirit Jasmine Tutum and OG Jahtari crew disrupt & Rootah as The Other Others, oscillating between spaced out soundscapes, floaty hoovers and heavy movers.

Tokyo-born, grown up in Jamaica and living in Germany (with various stops in-between) Jasmine’s wild biography translates into sonic territory with this LP, drawing inspiration from Grace Jones and Theo Parrish, newworldaquarium and Roger Robinson alike.

Coming on vinyl LP and as limited glow-in-the-dark tapes edition!

Volume 1 of the Strasse E mixtape series by Rootah, who was a resident DJ at a local Leipzig techno club and obsessive record digger in the 1990s before starting Jahtari.

Lost & re-discovered, this first cassette was recorded in the early 2000s, mostly focusing on what was happening between Berlin, Detroit, Munich, Vienna and Chicago.

Great energy in this mix with lots of bangers that aged remarkably well, from a time before Discogs, Youtube or Shazam.

Comes with artwork by David Farris, with added hand-drawn Neon vibes. Limited copies!

A Jahtari 7″ with Lee Perry and Adrian Sherwood, out on On U Sound, mastered & cut by Dubplates & Mastering, distributed by Warp… well, we couldn’t be more honored and happier with the result: the two tripped out Rootah and disrupt versions are sounding as tuff as they should.

It appeared on On U sound as a limited Black Friday 2016 edition end of last year, and a few copies of this very hard-to-find wax made it over to our Jahtari shop. So best head quickly over HERE.

The Upsetter Meets Jahtari In The Secret Laboratory bring together a meeting of minds for this digi-dub 8-bit 9-bar remix package being transmitted all the way from the year 2026.

The Adrian Sherwood and Style Scott-produced Lee “Scratch” Perry original, Scientific Dancehall is a rolling drumfunk heavy jazzy bumper that has long been a firm fav round these parts, but we’d almost go as far to say the Jahtari updates from Disrupt & Rootah re-route the original transmission through a pixelated Echo Dek that blends the digi-dancehall sound into something resembling the outer reaches fellow astral-travellers Tapes, Equiknoxx, Seekers & the Bokeh Versions crew.

This 7″ came out on On U Sound as a Black Friday 2016 limited edition – rare!

In a match made in deep dub heaven, our next 12″ sees legendary Berlin-based mic chanter Paul St. Hilaire, aka Tikiman, meet the indomitable knob tweakers behind the Jahtari Riddim Force.

Opening with the cavernously deep Rhythm & Sound-esque Nah Ina It, Tiki strikes a lyrical blow against the myriad Babylonian forces creating schisms across our world. And no reprieve is granted to the evildoers when his conspirator, Raggamuffin Alex, issues a further decree on this epic Rootah disco mix in a devastating singjay fashion.

On the flip, toes can’t help but tap to the bouncing beat of Who Goes There, with Tiki flexing his fast chat chops alongside the swirling arpeggios of disrupt’s custom-built SID chip synth (check the video below to see how the riddim was made!). Tiki then drops back an octave or two on the sweet but ever-so-slightly demented riddim of One O’Clock Rock to keep things ticking over in a gruff rub-a-dub style.

And the finale, Love Jah Now, shows Tiki comes well versatile – with a vocal delivery nodding to the late, great Sugar Minott. The otherworldly dubwise atmosphere offers the perfect foil for a deeply conscious message.
